Last year saw the return of the British Masters @ Woburn Golf Club and with it a deserved win from a rookie Ryder Cup 2016 player, Matt Fitzpatrick. This year the British Masters is being hosted at The Grove and what a course it is.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a ProAm at this venue last year by Glen Portelli, but the day was a wash out with terential rain and although our team got off to a flying start, we were unable to complete the round and robbed of our impending victory. This did mean however that we were given a complimetary 4-ball to retun and play there this year. We timed it to perfection, the course is right now being primed for the professionals and it is in great condition.
The weather was good which always helps, our hosts gave impeccable service from the moment we arrived. Everything is well oiled at the hotel and the staff seem to be telpathic at anticpating what you might need before you have realised yourself.
Right now the course is pristine and the greens are true. So if you are in the Watford area over the next few weeks and looking for somewhere to have a solid and enjoyable round of golf. I would say that you cannot beat The Grove.
